The story
Road bikes, raced hard
WorldSBK started in 1988. Its rules said the race bikes had to come from models sold to the public. That idea still holds today.
Six brands race in 2026: Bimota, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha. Teams modify the bikes for the track, but the base is a road model. Each weekend has three races.

Every race bike starts from a road bike that the maker sells to the public. Teams then modify it for the track. Bimota, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha are on the 2026 grid.
