The story

German touring cars, now GT3

The DTM was revived in 2000 as the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. Until 2020 it ran purpose-built touring cars. In 2021 it switched to GT3 cars, the same type used in many other GT series.

Today it is ADAC's leading GT3 championship. Nine manufacturers race in 2026, kept close by Balance of Performance. Every weekend has two short sprint races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, at circuits in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

The machines

The cars9 makes

Every car is a GT3 car: a race car based on a road-going sports car. All teams use Pirelli tyres. Audi joined the grid for one round in September as a guest entry.
