The story
The middle step to MotoGP
Moto2 began in 2010 and replaced the old 250cc class. It is the middle step of the ladder: Moto3 below, MotoGP above. It races on MotoGP weekends, and in 2026 it shares all 22 of them.
Every team uses the same Triumph engine, a 765cc three-cylinder. Triumph took over from Honda in 2019, and its deal runs to 2029. The frames are open: teams choose between Kalex, Boscoscuro and Forward.
The machines
The bikes14 teams
Every bike has the same Triumph 765cc three-cylinder engine. Teams pick their own frame from Kalex, Boscoscuro or Forward. In 2026, ten of the 14 teams ride a Kalex.
